Homo sapiens(Latin: wise man, rational man) is the binomial nomenclature, or scientific name, for the human species. Homo is a genus that, in addition to modern humans, also includes Neanderthals and many other extinct members of the family Hominidae. H. sapiens is the only surviving species of the genus Homo.
As a species, we have developed advanced cognitive functions such as complex speech, precise throwing, and the ability to abstract. This page is about human discovery, the desire to explain the complex world around us.
"The very nature of science is discoveries, and the best of those discoveries are the ones you don't expect."
